Description
Introduction
A USB 3.1 Gen1 cable is designed to support data transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps (gigabits per second). This type of cable is also commonly referred to as USB 3.0, as it was initially introduced as USB 3.0 before being rebranded as USB 3.1 Gen1. USB 3.1 Gen1 cables are backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices, but they will operate at the lower speeds supported by those standards when connected to compatible devices.
Specifications
- Connector: USB Type-C on both ends. USB Type-C is a small, reversible connector that can be plugged in either way, eliminating the need to check for the correct orientation.
- Data Transfer Speed: Supports data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps (gigabits per second). This allows for faster file transfers and improved performance compared to older USB standards.
- Backward Compatibility: USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C cables are backward compatible with USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 devices. However, when connected to devices that support older USB standards, the transfer speeds will be limited to the maximum speed of the lowest supported standard.
- Power Delivery: USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C cables can support power delivery of up to 15 watts (5 volts at 3 amps)
