Description
Introduction
This active Mini DisplayPort (Mini DP) to DVI adapter is a device that converts a Mini DisplayPort signal from a computer or other device into a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) signal for a monitor or display. It contain a built-in converter chip that actively transforms the signal from Mini DP to DVI. This is necessary when using dual-link DVI displays or when connecting to a system that doesn’t support DP++ (DisplayPort Dual-Mode).
Features:
Input: Mini DisplayPort (Mini DP)
Output: DVI (Digital Visual Interface)
Resolution Support: 4K@30Hz
Applications : Converts video signals from Mini DP to DVI
Compatibility: Works with Mini DP or Thunderbolt 2 ports (commonly found on older MacBooks, Surface devices, and some laptops/PCs)
When Do You Need an Active Adapter?
- Your graphics card or device does not support DP++ (meaning it cannot output a native HDMI signal through DisplayPort).
- You are using a high-resolution (4K) or high-refresh-rate display that requires better signal conversion.
- You want to connect multiple monitors from a DisplayPort output, especially for setups using Eyefinity or NVIDIA Surround.
